Qualifications

• Senior Authorised Person status or prior holding
• Extensive experience with high-voltage electrical systems
• Strong knowledge of electrical safety regulations and switching procedures
• Experience planning switching operations for substations and HV equipment
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
• Relevant electrical engineering qualification or equivalent experience
• HV Authorised Person or HV Switching authorisations
• Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute high-voltage switching operations in accordance with safety rules and procedures.
• Plan and coordinate network access, outages, and switching programmes to support project delivery.
• Authorize and oversee work on high-voltage electrical systems, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
• Provide technical guidance to operational, engineering, and project delivery teams.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve electrical faults, defects, and network issues.
• Review and approve safety documentation, permits, and operational procedures before works commence.
• Champion a strong safety culture through coaching and auditing.
• Support development and mentoring of Authorised Persons and operational personnel.
