Cathedral Appointments are recruiting on behalf of an established, values-led organisation committed to creating long-term social impact. The Senior HR Business Partner will sit within a lean, high-performing HR team, acting as the lead HR contact for a key part of the business.

You'll combine strategic partnering with hands-on delivery, working closely with senior stakeholders to drive performance, capability and culture.

The team operates in a lean, hands‑on way, with everyone contributing across the people agenda and playing an active part in day‑to‑day delivery as well as longer‑term projects.

The Role

This Senior HR Business Partner role sits within a small, high‑performing HR team, acting as the lead HR contact for a key part of the business. You'll combine strategic partnering with hands‑on delivery, working closely with senior stakeholders to drive performance, capability and culture. It suits someone who's happy rolling their sleeves up and getting stuck in day‑to‑day, while still having real opportunity to influence at a strategic level.

Responsibilities for the Senior HR Business Partner:

• Lead on HR activity for your business area, providing commercially focused and pragmatic advice to stakeholders
• Manage complex employee relations cases, ensuring fair, consistent and compliant processes
• Partner with managers on recruitment, workforce planning and capability development
• Work closely with the wider HR team on people initiatives, projects and continuous improvement
• Contribute across the wider HR agenda, supporting colleagues wherever needed within a lean team
• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, providing challenge and coaching where appropriate

• Proven experience operating as an HR Business Partner within a lean, hands‑on team
• Strong employee relations expertise, including handling complex cases
• Ability to influence, challenge and coach senior stakeholders effectively
