About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Human Resources Business Partner to join an established organisation based at Barrow.

This is a key Human Resources position, providing both strategic and operational Human Resources support across the organisation. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders and managers to develop people capability, improve organisational performance and deliver effective HR strategies and initiatives.

You will act as a trusted Human Resources partner, providing expert advice, coaching and constructive challenge on a wide range of people matters. The role will involve working closely with managers to understand business challenges, identify appropriate people solutions and support the organisation in achieving its wider objectives.

The Role

A key focus of the position will be developing strong relationships with managers and senior stakeholders, providing Human Resources advice and coaching on people-related challenges. You will support leaders in developing their management and leadership capability while helping to create and maintain a high-performing culture.

You will play an important role in the organisation's performance management processes, supporting managers throughout the performance cycle, facilitating performance calibration and providing guidance on addressing underperformance. You will also provide expert advice on complex employee relations matters, ensuring that decisions and actions are fair, consistent with company policy and aligned with current employment legislation and best practice.

The role will involve supporting managers and employees with workplace issues, helping to improve working relationships, employee engagement, morale, productivity and retention. You will be expected to conduct and support thorough and objective investigations and work with Legal, Occupational Health and other external specialists where appropriate.

You will also contribute to wider organisational development by supporting business change, workforce planning, talent management and succession planning. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take ownership of and contribute to a variety of Human Resources projects and organisational initiatives.

As part of the wider Human Resources function, you will coordinate key activities such as annual reward reviews, performance reviews and reward and payroll communications. You will also support internal and external recruitment and resourcing activity, working with agencies and service providers where required.

The position will also involve responding to day-to-day Human Resources queries and ensuring that employees and managers receive a consistent and accessible HR service. You will use HR data, trends and workforce metrics to identify opportunities and help develop practical solutions, programmes and policies that support the organisation's people and business objectives.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources professional with a strong background in HR Business Partnering and a broad understanding of areas including employee relations, HR operations, reward, recruitment and resourcing, learning and development, performance management, talent management and workforce planning.

You will have excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to influence, coach and constructively challenge senior managers. Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice is essential, alongside the ability to manage complex employee relations matters with professionalism and sound judgement.

Commercial awareness is also important, with the ability to understand business priorities and translate them into effective HR solutions. You should be confident analysing information from a range of sources, assessing different options and making informed recommendations and decisions.

The successful candidate will be proactive, pragmatic and comfortable working within a changing and complex organisational environment. Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the organisation.

Qualifications

Applicants should hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent qualification, in an appropriate discipline and have significant professional experience within HR Business Partnering or a similar senior HR position.

A CIPD qualification or equivalent professional HR qualification would be highly desirable.
