Job summary

Spinwell Ltd. in the UK is seeking a Senior Magnet Design Engineer to lead the STEP model coil programme and deliver world-class HTS magnet designs.

You will oversee multi-physics analyses, magnet fabrication and testing, and coordinate with international partners to extend HTS capability.

Hybrid/Culham site, requiring at least two days on site weekly, and a track record of delivering high-tech projects on time and to budget.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in an engineering discipline.
• Chartered Membership of a relevant Professional Institute.
• Strong background in the design and manufacture of HTS magnets.
• Deep understanding of cryogenics.
• Experience with multi-physics analyses and magnet engineering tools.
• Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams and tender specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, build and test HTS magnets for the STEP model coil programme.
• Devise strategic technology development plans and guide a multi-disciplinary team.
• Specify design activities, perform multi-physics analyses, oversee fabrication and testing.
• Collaborate with STEP power plant concept team to define model coil designs.
• Communicate complex technical challenges to diverse audiences.
