Qualifications

Job Title: Senior HSEQ Engineer

The role reports directly to the Lead HSEQ Engineer. As a Senior HSEQ Engineer, you will provide HSEQS support and guidance to all DeepOcean operational areas in accordance with the DeepOcean approved HSEQS Management System, current legislation, and regulations. Occasional offshore trips will be required.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Provide operational HSEQ support for projects and worksites.
  2. Report on performance and the continual development of the HSEQS Management System across all company operations.
  3. Support the commercial tendering and bidding processes.
  4. Participate in internal and external audits of the HSEQS Management System.
  5. Report to the Lead HSEQ Engineer on HSEQS performance and suggest improvements.
  6. Promote and exemplify DeepOcean's HSEQS culture and values at departmental and client levels.
  7. Ensure understanding and application of applicable HSEQS legislation to ensure organizational compliance.
  8. Implement and support the Behavioural Safety Programme ACT for Safety.
  9. Support the Lead HSEQ Engineer and act as a deputy when required.
  10. Guide and support team members as appropriate.
  11. Participate in project/site HIRA, HAZID, HAZOP, and SJA processes with project teams and site managers.
  12. Advise on hazardous working practices and control measures.
  13. Review risk assessments periodically for compliance and relevance.
Qualifications and Experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar HSEQ role within subsea O&G or renewables environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant education in HSE.
  • Understanding of Management Systems, HSE Legislation/Regulations, Risk Management, Auditing, Inspection, Incident Management, and Emergency Response.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and proactive.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
