Job summary

Line Up Aviation seeks a Senior HSE Engineer to lead health, safety and environmental activities on a major project in Bridgwater. The role covers installation, testing, commissioning and integration of BMS, fire detection and life-safety systems with a focus on zero-harm culture across project teams and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in HSE, CDM experience, NEBOSH diploma or equivalent, IOSH membership, and strong stakeholder communication skills.

Qualifications

• Construction HSE experience required.
• CDM Regulations knowledge essential.
• Contractor management experience essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead HSE activities across BMS, controls, fire systems, installation and commissioning, acting as the onsite client representative.
• Implement and monitor project HSE plans, safe systems of work and compliance with UK legislation, including CDM Regulations.
• Prepare, review and verify RAMS, permits and HSE documentation.
• Identify and manage risks associated with electrical work, energisation, working at height, confined spaces and live working environments.
• Conduct site inspections, safety audits and behavioural observations, ensuring corrective actions are completed promptly.
• Investigate incidents, establish root causes and implement preventative measures.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance, competency, training and adherence to RAMS and permit-to-work procedures.
• Support safe testing, commissioning and handover, including LOTO controls.
• Deliver inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings, promoting workforce engagement and continuous improvement.
• Build relationships with customers and project stakeholders, representing the project in HSE meetings and audits.
• Produce regular HSE reports covering KPIs, incidents and risks.
