Job summary

AJ Group is seeking a Senior HSE Advisor to support safe operations across highways projects and depots. You will provide practical health, safety and environmental guidance and drive continuous improvement, working with managers, supervisors and site teams.

This hands-on role requires building strong relationships, challenging unsafe practices and delivering toolbox talks, training and safety communications across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Experience in HSE advisory within highways, civil engineering, or construction.
• Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Experience reviewing RAMS and investigating incidents.

Responsibilities

• Provide HSE advice and support to managers, employees and subcontractors across locations.
• Conduct site inspections, depot reviews and audits with corrective actions.
• Review and develop RAMS and safe systems of work.
• Support risks from live traffic, plant movements, hazardous substances and night work.
• Investigate incidents and near misses and share lessons learned.
• Deliver toolbox talks and safety training to teams.
• Monitor HSE performance and report improvements.
• Liaise with clients and principal contractors on safety standards.
• Support environmental controls and waste management.
• Maintain HSE records and assist audits.
