Job summary

GXO is seeking a Senior HR Advisor to lead people initiatives at the Sherburn-in-Elmet operation. This full-time, permanent role runs Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00, supporting a large 24/7 workforce with leadership collaboration to deliver the site People Plan.

You will influence culture, structure and processes to drive performance and compliance. The ideal candidate will have UK employment law knowledge, experience in employee relations, and CIPD Level 5 or above.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of UK Employment Law and employee relations processes.
• Experience driving talent development, succession planning and performance across an operation.
• Ability to partner with senior leaders and shape culture in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Responsibilities

• Support and drive site culture with senior leaders and operations teams.
• Lead talent, succession planning and performance management across the site.
• Provide expert HR guidance on disciplinary, grievance, TUPE, redundancy, performance and absence cases.
• Coach managers through training and development to build capability in people management.
• Drive HR projects, engagement initiatives and people analytics while deputising for the HR Manager.

Are you confident managing complex employee relations matters while influencing business performance through people strategies?

Here at GXO, we're recruiting for a Senior HR Advisor to join our Sherburn-in-Elmet operation. This is a full-time, permanent role, working Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00, where you'll provide a comprehensive HR service while playing a fundamental role in supporting the delivery of the site People Plan, aligning culture, talent, structure and processes. Supporting a large and diverse workforce across a 24/7 operation, you'll work closely with site leadership teams to create a high performing, engaged and compliant working environment.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Support and actively drive site culture, working closely with senior leaders and operational teams to enhance the employee experience across all stages of the colleague lifecycle
• Lead talent, succession planning and performance management activities, supporting development plans, appraisals and the annual performance cycle across the operation
• Provide expert HR advice and guidance on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, TUPE, redundancy, performance and absence cases, managing more complex matters when required
• Support managers through coaching, training and development initiatives, helping to build capability and confidence in people management
• Drive HR projects, engagement initiatives, people analytics and continuous improvement activities while deputising for the HR Manager when required

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Previous experience in a Senior HR Advisor, HR Advisor or HR Generalist role within a fast-paced operational, warehousing, logistics or manufacturing environment
• Strong working knowledge of UK Employment Law, employee relations processes and complex case management
• Experience supporting talent management, succession planning, engagement initiatives and organisational change activities
• Strong communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and challenge constructively at all levels
• Ideally CIPD Level 5 qualified or above, with excellent organisational skills and a passion for developing people and driving positive change
