Job summary

• Lead development projects from concept and business case through to handover.
• Collaborate with Homelessness, Children's Services and Adult Social Care to meet housing needs.
• Deliver projects on time, within budget and to required standards.
• Identify and implement innovative solutions to achieve project outcomes.
• Use judgement to resolve problems as they arise.
• Procure and appoint external consultants.
• Build relationships with Council officers, Registered Providers, funders (Homes England, Dept for Education) and elected members.

Job description

This senior post sits in the Council's Housing Service, which manages specialist housing stock and provides new homes for vulnerable residents the Council has a statutory duty to house. The work is securing enough high-quality specialist homes through repair, adaptation, acquisition or direct delivery, from business case to handover. It involves working with Homelessness, Children's Services and Adult Social Care, appointing external consultants and liaising with partners and elected members. Open to internal candidates only.
