Job summary

TeacherActive Limited in Strood, Kent, is seeking a qualified HLTA to support pupils with SEND and to lead whole-class learning during Teacher PPA time. The role starts ASAP on a long-term basis in a mainstream primary school.

You will manage challenging behaviour, maintain a positive classroom environment, and work with consultants to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification required
• Experience in mainstream primary school setting
• Experience supporting children with SEND
• Confident leading whole-class learning and delivering lessons during PPA
• Excellent classroom management and ability to establish boundaries
• Patient, approachable and adaptable attitude

Responsibilities

• Lead whole-class learning during Teacher PPA cover
• Support pupils with varying learning needs including SEND
• Maintain a positive, engaging classroom environment
• Manage behaviour effectively and calmly
• Collaborate with school staff to support learning goals
