Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Advanced Specialist Pharmacist - HIV (Band 8a) to lead and deliver a highly specialist HIV pharmacy service across inpatient and outpatient settings. The post holder will provide expert pharmaceutical care for patients with HIV within the MDT, supporting safe antiretroviral therapy in line with BHIVA standards and national guidance.

Qualifications

• GPhC registration with current practice status.
• 4+ years post-registration experience, incl 2 years in hospital clinical pharmacy at band 7.
• Non-medical prescribing qualification or working towards it.
• Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy.
• Experience with medicines governance and budget support.
• Strong clinical and communication skills within a MDT.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver a specialist HIV pharmacy service for patients with HIV.
• Provide expert input on antiretroviral therapy, including complex regimens and drug interactions.
• Deliver clinic-based pharmacy services, including adherence support and counselling.
• Contribute to outpatient and inpatient HIV services and MDT discussions.
• Support education and training for pharmacy staff and the wider MDT.
• Develop and review local guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Support medicines safety, audit and service improvement activities.
