Job summary

The One Health Elective Surgery Hub in North Lincolnshire seeks a substantive Trauma & Orthopaedics consultant for a permanent, full-time post focused on planned hip and knee surgery. You will assess and treat patients in clinic, perform elective hip and knee procedures and provide comprehensive perioperative care.

Applicants must hold FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics) or equivalent, with unrestricted GMC registration and Specialist Register status.

Qualifications

• FRCS (Trauma & Orthopaedics) or equivalent.
• Full GMC registration with Specialist Register status in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery.
• Unrestricted GMC registration and licence to practise.
• Experienced substantive NHS consultant with 12+ months in post.
• Proven experience in hip and knee surgery within NHS and/or independent practice.
• Excellent clinical, communication and team-working skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage hip and knee conditions in outpatient clinics.
• Perform elective hip and knee surgery in line with national standards and clinical pathways.
• Provide pre- and postoperative follow-up care.
• Collaborate with anaesthetists, nursing and multidisciplinary teams to maintain high standards of care.
• Support development and expansion of orthopaedic services at One Health.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and produce letters, notes and reports.
• Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical case discussions.
• Ensure GMC standards, governance and regulatory compliance.
• Contribute to audit, quality improvement and service evaluation.
• Supervise and support clinical colleagues as appropriate.
• Take part in appraisal and revalidation.
• Promote patient safety, clinical excellence and continuous improvement.
