Job summary

Opus People Solutions are hiring a Senior Highways Engineer for a Local Authority client in Milton Keynes. The role can be full-time or at least 3 days per week, with remote work and about 1 day in the office.

You will provide senior client-side technical support across major highways, infrastructure and development projects, and help deliver capital projects from design and procurement through to construction and handover.

Qualifications

• Experience with highways, civil engineering, infrastructure delivery or highway structures.
• Reviewing technical designs, drawings and construction proposals.
• Managing consultants, contractors or external delivery partners.
• Supporting delivery of projects through design and construction stages.
• Bridges or highway structures experience is advantageous.
• Familiarity with NEC contracts or similar contracts.
• Knowledge of DMRB, Manual for Streets, and CDM Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior client-side technical support across major highways projects.
• Support delivery of capital projects from design and procurement through construction and handover.
• Review designs, drawings, calculations, specifications and construction proposals.
• Manage consultants, contractors and other delivery partners.
• Monitor construction activities via site inspections and ensure safety and quality.
