Job summary

Carrington West is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor for highways infrastructure based in Featherstone, Wakefield. You will own commercial outcomes from pre-contract through final account, ensuring robust contracts, accurate forecasting and effective cash flow management.

You will work with operational and estimating colleagues, driving value, managing change, and protecting margins across civil projects in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Strong experience in civil engineering/infrastructure.
• Good knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Understanding of estimating from first principles.
• Experience managing highways infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial aspects of highways projects from pre-contract to final account.
• Collaborate with estimators to protect margins and optimise pricing.
• Oversee cost control, cash flow, and project reporting.
• Prepare and agree compensation events and CE/CEMAR registers.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support value engineering.
• Produce budgets, forecasts and commercial reports with teams.
