Job summary

Mayer Brown Limited in Woking is seeking a Principal Highway Technician to lead highway design and technical drawing production. You will produce and review drawings, develop layouts and 3D models, and support projects from feasibility through construction.

The role requires strong AutoCAD/Civil 3D skills, familiarity with Section 278/38 submissions, and the ability to mentor junior staff while delivering high-quality outputs. Hybrid working is offered.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in highway design and technical drawing production.

Responsibilities

• Produce, review and coordinate highway and civil drawings for development projects.
• Prepare detailed technical drawings for Section 278/38 submissions.
• Develop highway layouts, sections and construction details.
• Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D to create accurate, coordinated design information.
• Support engineering with design development from feasibility to construction.
• Prepare 3D models including surfaces and alignments.
• Assist with vehicle tracking, junction layouts and external works drawings.
• Mentor junior technicians and graduates.
