Job summary

Millbank Holdings Ltd is seeking a Project Manager (High Voltage Systems) to lead the delivery of HV cable and plant packages on a major National Grid project.

You will oversee HV and MEP design, manage subcontractors, coordinate design reviews, and ensure compliance with National Grid standards while delivering on time and within budget.

The role requires 10+ years of HV project delivery, National Grid experience, and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience delivering High Voltage infrastructure projects for a contractor.
• Experience on National Grid projects, preferably 400kV/275kV/132kV.
• Strong HV cable/substation knowledge and leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience delivering Design & Build engineering projects.
• Commercial awareness with forecasts, subcontract accounts and variations.
• Excellent PM and programme management skills.
• Knowledge of National Grid procedures and project requirements.
• Understanding of design management and construction delivery processes.
• Experience within CDM and Principal Contractor environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. SMSTS; UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV Cable and HV Plant subcontractors to ensure safe, compliant delivery.
• Act as technical lead for all HV-related activities across the project.
• Manage HV and MEP design deliverables against programme constraints.
• Coordinate design workshops, technical reviews, and RFIs.
• Review design submissions and documentation for client alignment.
• Maintain design deliverable schedules and monitor milestones.
• Lead design interface meetings with clients, consultants and designers.
• Coordinate construction and engineering interface activities.
• Ensure compliance with design management procedures and governance.
• Manage BIM requirements with project teams; support temporary works design briefs.
• Develop subcontract scopes, packages and procurement strategies.
• Review subcontractor accounts, variations, forecasts and commercial performance.
• Monitor costs and value forecasts to improve profitability.
• Ensure HV works meet programme, technical, commercial and contractual requirements.
• Support Integrated Management Plan and project documentation; manage construction programmes.
