Job summary

Semtech in Bristol is seeking a High-Speed Validation Engineer to validate next-generation semiconductor devices. You will perform hands-on lab testing of 10 Gbit/s+ data paths, refine test methods, and contribute to design evaluation in a fast-paced R&D environment.

You’ll collaborate with design, product, test and applications engineers, create validation reports, and help shape future connectivity technologies through rigorous experimentation and innovation.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in EE/ECE or HNC/HND with 6 years relevant work experience.
• Able to work under pressure in a highly paced R&D environment.
• Excellent team-player who positively interacts and shares knowledge.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Capable of self-study/training/learning.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in new product design meetings and drive test feature development as required for the successful evaluation of new products.
• Assist in designing the validation solution development for new products (software/hardware/documentation).
• Identification of bench-top test equipment for the validation of new products.
• Generation of test equipment automation software using Python or Labview.
• Collaborate with designers, product, test and applications engineers.
• Participate in validation review meetings.
• Creation of validation reports.
• Testing of high speed optical components, IC’s or modules.
• Taking high speed measurements in a lab environment on products operating at data rates of 10Gbit/s and above.
• Utilising existing knowledge of high speed signal integrity for schematic entry / layout using Altium PCB tools.
