Job summary

Semtech is seeking a Graduate High-Speed Validation Engineer in Bristol to train and measure next‑generation semiconductor devices at speeds of 10Gbit/s and beyond. You’ll be in a fast-paced R&D environment, building test approaches and automation skills from day one.

As a recent graduate, you’ll contribute to validation meetings, gain exposure to Python/LabVIEW automation, and learn high-speed signal integrity with access to industry-leading equipment.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (EE/ECE) or a closely related discipline.
• 0-2 years' relevant experience — this role is designed for recent graduates.
• A genuine curiosity for electronics, test, and measurement, and a willingness to learn fast.
• A natural team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and asking questions.

Responsibilities

• Support new product design meetings and help develop test approaches for evaluating new products.
• Assist in building validation solutions for new products — covering software, hardware, and documentation.
• Help identify the right bench-top test equipment for validating new products.
• Learn to build test automation software using Python or LabVIEW.
• Work closely with designers, product, test, and applications engineers as part of a collaborative team.
• Take part in validation review meetings and contribute your findings.
• Help create clear, accurate validation reports.
• Get hands‑on testing high-speed optical components, ICs, and modules.
• Take high-speed lab measurements on products operating at data rates of 10Gbit/s and above.
• Build knowledge of high-speed signal integrity, including exposure to Altium PCB tools.
