Job summary

Get Staffed Online Recruitment Limited is representing an established transport business in the South East. They seek an experienced hands-on HGV Workshop Manager to run the in-house workshop, manage staff, coordinate third-party maintenance and keep the fleet compliant and available.

You will work closely with the Transport Manager and external partners to maximise vehicle availability, efficiency and safety, starting at 7:00am with negotiable finish times and a Monday-to-Friday pattern.

Qualifications

• Proven experience running an HGV workshop or equivalent maintenance operation.
• Strong understanding of PMIs, MOTs, defects and roadworthiness.
• Ability to manage repairs and coordinate insurance claims.
• Experience using workshop management software.

Responsibilities

• Run the workshop day-to-day operations and organise the workshop.
• Maintain communication with Transport Manager about vehicle availability and repairs.
• Oversee PMIs, servicing, MOT preparation and defect rectification.
• Identify and order parts required for servicing and maintenance.
• Manage damage repairs and insurance claims for the fleet.
• Lead workshop staff and allocate jobs effectively.
• Coordinate with external workshops and maintenance contractors.
• Ensure accurate recording of jobs, hours, parts and costs in the system.
