Job summary

Veolia Group in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to maintain and repair refuse vehicles to high standards. You’ll diagnose faults, service to MOT/VOSA standards, and keep accurate records for compliance and safety.

The role requires NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance, strong diagnostics, and a proactive approach. A willingness to travel, flexible hours, and a Class 2 licence are advantageous. Veolia offers training, benefits, and chances to progress.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service & Maintenance.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Understanding of electronics, hydraulics, and wiring diagrams.
• Excellent communication.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on chassis and mounted equipment.
• Service vehicles to VOSA standards and prepare for MOT inspections.
• Complete body and chassis repairs and ensure compliance with Transport specifications.
• Maintain accurate records, paperwork and time sheets.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems.
• Follow health and safety procedures and ensure safety of yourself and others.
• Undertake roadside repairs when required (training provided).
• Undertake training to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
