Stourhead, Stourton, Warminster, BA12 6QD, is seeking a Collections and House Manager to lead a team of collections staff and volunteers and work with Curator and Conservator. The role requires turning conservation priorities into engaging visitor moments and ensuring access and storytelling align with preservation goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in achieving high standards of presentation, customer care, compliance and collections management in a historic setting.
• Aware of heritage sector developments in visitor engagement, innovation and access.
• Promotes inclusivity and diversity in interpretation and presentation of history.
• Resilient and positive while managing colleagues, changes and challenges.
• Able to build strong relationships with diverse people.
• Experienced in managing people and achieving goals through others.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of collections staff and volunteers, driving performance with clear objectives.
• Translate conservation priorities into the visitor journey and storytelling.
• Balance access, conservation and storytelling across interventions in the collection.
• Set and manage operational and conservation budgets and risk for the house and grounds.
