We have two posts available for Senior Building Conservation Advisers, with options for full-time or part-time hours across multiple UK locations in a hybrid arrangement.

You will join the Building and Landscape Conservation Team and provide specialist technical advice on conserving historic assets, developing standards, and disseminating guidance to

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject, or equivalent work experience.
• Extensive, appropriate and wide-ranging post‑qualification experience in the conservation of historic buildings and structures.
• Experience of writing reports, guidance and articles, and editing the work of others.
• Practical experience of a range of historic building repair methods.
• Detailed knowledge of traditional building materials and systems, deterioration mechanisms and remedial options.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist technical advice on conserving, repairing, maintaining and adapting heritage assets.
• Develop and promote technical standards and guidance on appropriate conservation methods.
• Commission and manage applied research projects and produce technical guidance for a range of audiences.
• Deliver training and disseminate guidance to conservation professionals and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to shape future priorities and evidence needs.
