Senior Healthcare Assistant

£12.26 - £12.82 per hour + weekend enhancements

37.5 hours per week

Brainkind has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our dedicated team at Stagenhoe Neurological Care Centre. As a Senior Healthcare Assistant, you will coordinate the provision of high-quality holistic person-centred care and support to our service users. You will also provide direct supervision, coaching, and mentoring to junior staff.

About us:

Stagenhoe is a Brainkind specialist neurological care centre based in Hertfordshire, caring for people aged 18 and over with neurological conditions. We provide the care people need to optimise their health and wellbeing, maximise their independence, and support their emotional and social needs. Our facilities include assessment centres, rehabilitation units, and hospitals, all using expert neurorehabilitation to support and improve the lives of people with neurological conditions or brain injuries.

About the role:
  • Carry out and delegate care and support tasks ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
  • Promote and support the rights and choices of individuals, acknowledging their beliefs and preferences.
  • Comply with national and local policies, procedures, guidelines, and legislation.
  • Complete local and corporate induction and attend mandatory and priority training.
  • Promote choice in care delivery, review and suggest improvements for individuals' experiences, and facilitate concerns and complaints to be raised freely.
About you:
  • S/NVQ/QCF Level 3 or equivalent - essential
  • Numerate and literate
  • Computer literacy
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience working within a team
  • Leadership and supervision skills
  • At least 2 years relevant care experience
  • Audit awareness
  • Coaching and mentoring experience or qualifications
  • Specific competencies related to the specialty
Enhancements:
  • Weekend (Friday midnight to Sunday midnight): 30%
  • Public Holidays (24 hours): 60%

Note: Stagenhoe is not accessible by public transport.
