Qualifications

Cornerstone Healthcare is looking for an experienced and passionate Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our award-winning team at South Africa Lodge. South Africa Lodge is a 99-bedded service providing high-quality care across 6 specialised units supporting residents with complex care needs, while offering a comfortable and safe living environment.

Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole person and their unique challenges, rather than just the diagnosis. We are currently rated GOOD with CQC.

What do you need?

• Minimum of 1 year's experience working in Care within the UK (essential)
• Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, residents, and their families
• A caring and empathetic approach to residents and their visitors
• Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)

What hours will you work?

Total average of 38.5 hours worked per week

What will you be doing?

• Prioritising workload of the care team, seeking advice from the nurse in charge where necessary
• Participate in meetings including staff meetings, case reviews, clinical reviews, as prescribed by the Nurse in charge
• Observe resident progress against planned goals and report changes in the residents’ condition or care needs to a registered nurse
• Support all aspects of daily living including personal care, mealtimes, and social activities
• Help residents to remain as independent as possible
• Respect residents' right of choice, privacy, and dignity at all times

Cornerstone Healthcare provides specialist care for vulnerable people with challenging behaviours associated with complex neurodegenerative and mental health needs.

Residents in our homes primarily have neurological degenerative conditions such as Dementia, often with underlying mental health issues, making them unsuitable for dementia or residential care homes for the elderly.

We currently operate 3 services in Waterlooville, Curdridge, and Mytchett, with 2 new services opening in Bristol and Birmingham in 2025.
