Job Overview
The main responsibilities of this job will be to assist in the setting up of clinics to perform a variety of clinics. This includes diagnostic hysteroscopy, Colposcopy, LLETZ, myosure, Sonata and cystoscopy. During the procedures the candidate will support the patient aswell as ensuring the clinicians have all the equipment that is needed in a timely fashion.
Included in this role is jobs that will help the general day to day running of the department, for example, checking stock levels, putting away stock, cleaning of rooms and equipment.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced Band 3 Senior Healthcare assistant to work in Ambulatory Gynaecology. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a fast paced environment that performs colposcopy, hysteroscopy and cystoscopy in an outpatient setting. Experience of setting up and assisting with myosure and Sonata procedures is an advantage.
The ideal person will be able to have good skills to manage their workload. We are seeking someone that is able to work with a variety of clinical staff, including, Consultants, nurse specialists, admin.
The usual hours of work are 0900-1700 5 days a week, although we are open to flexibility if the hours cover our workload. There may be some longer days and weekend work.

Qualifications / Training Required
Essential criteria
- NVQ 3 in health and social care or equivalent
- Numeracy and Literacy skills at level 1 or 2 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Keyboard skills
- Experience and competent in additional clinical skills
Previous or relevant experience necessary
Essential criteria
- Proven experience in a caring role
- Understanding of an acute hospital setting and the role of the SHCA
Desirable criteria
- Previous HCA experience
- Experience of using a computer
- Experience of working with the general public
