Qualifications

Cornerstone Healthcare is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our award-winning team at South Africa Lodge. South Africa Lodge is a 99-bedded service providing high-quality care across 6 specialised units, supporting residents with complex needs while ensuring a comfortable and safe living environment. Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole person and their unique challenges, rather than just the diagnosis. We are currently rated GOOD with CQC.

What do you need?

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working as a Senior Healthcare Assistant within the UK (essential)
  • Experience leading teams as a Senior/Team Leader or Unit Manager
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (essential)
  • Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with colleagues, residents, and families
  • A caring and empathetic approach to residents and visitors
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

What hours will you work?

We offer a 7 out of 14 day working pattern, giving you more time for yourself.

Week A - 3 days: Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday, 19.45 - 07.45

Week B - 4 days: Monday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday, 19.45 - 07.45

Total average of 38.5 hours per week.

What will you be doing?

  • Prioritising workload of the care team, seeking advice from the nurse in charge when necessary
  • Participating in staff meetings, case reviews, clinical reviews as prescribed by the Nurse in charge
  • Monitoring resident progress and reporting changes to a registered nurse
  • Supporting daily living activities, including personal care, mealtimes, and social activities
  • Helping residents maintain independence
  • Respecting residents' rights to privacy, dignity, and choice
