37.5 hours per week (3 shifts per week on a rolling 4-week rota) £11.44 to £11.72 per hour

Brainkind has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our dedicated team at The Chantry Neurological Care Centre. As a Senior Healthcare Assistant, you will coordinate the provision of high-quality holistic person-centred care and support to our service users. You will also provide direct supervision, coaching, and mentoring to junior staff.

About us:

The Chantry is a Brainkind specialist neurological care centre based in Ipswich, caring for people aged 18 and over with a range of neurological conditions. At The Chantry, we provide the care people need to optimise their health and wellbeing, maximise their independence, and support their emotional and social needs. Our assessment centres, rehabilitation units, and hospitals use expert neurorehabilitation to support and help improve the lives of people with neurological conditions or brain injuries.

About the role:
  • Carry out and delegate care and support tasks whilst ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
  • Promote and support the rights and choices of individuals, acknowledging their beliefs and preferences.
  • Comply with national and local policies, procedures, guidelines, and legislation.
  • Complete local and corporate induction and attend mandatory and priority training.
  • Promote choice in the delivery of care and support, reviewing and suggesting enhancements to improve individuals' experiences. Enable concerns and complaints to be raised freely by individuals and/or their representatives.
About you:
  • S/NVQ/QCF Level 3 or equivalent is essential.
  • Numerate and literate.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience working within a team.
  • Demonstrable skills in leadership and supervision.
  • At least 2 years relevant care work experience.
  • Audit awareness.
  • Coaching and mentoring experience and/or qualifications.
  • Competencies specific to the specialty.
Enhancements:
  • Weekends (Friday midnight to Sunday midnight): 30%
  • Public Holidays (24 hours): 60%
