Job summary

Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Part time Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join the Out-Patient Team, supporting the preparation and smooth running of clinics and procedure rooms.

You will be trained to perform venepuncture, blood pressure monitoring, urine testing and bladder scanning, with duties expanding to enhanced procedure areas and assisting registered practitioners. Flexibility and clear patient communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience or training in venipuncture, blood pressure, urine testing and bladder scanning.
• Ability to work flexibly within a six-day service including evenings.
• Effective communication with a wide range of people and patients.
• Ability to perform manual handling and maintain cleanliness in clinical areas.

Job description

We are looking for a Part time Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join our Out-Patient Team to support the preparation and effective running of our clinics and procedure room ., You will be trained to undertake skills including Venepuncture, blood pressure monitoring, urine testing, bladder scanning and will use these skills daily as well as undertaking training to work in enhanced procedure area, working as support for registered practitioners.

Start times of shifts will be variable, from 7:30 am to 8pm Monday - Saturday. Your roster will reflect service demand. The ability to work flexible/ variable shifts is essential, as we are open 6 days a week including evenings.

We are looking for a colleague who can communicate effectively with a wide range of people, and applicants must be confident in keeping our patients updated with information.

Our out-patient healthcare assistants play a vital role in maintaining standards of cleanliness. They also undertake manual handling of patients & equipment, and the role involves standing/ walking for lengthy periods of time.
