Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Health and Safety (SHE) Advisor to work on projects across Essex, Hertfordshire, and Suffolk. This is a multisite, hybrid role offering up to £60k+ package.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing guidance and advice on statutory requirements and company standards through guidance and observation visits.
• Responding to advice requests within your expertise, coordinating with the SHE Manager.
• Undertaking risk assessments related to SHE.
• Collaborating with operational teams to ensure SHE considerations throughout project lifecycles, identifying control measures.
• Assisting with the implementation of OHSAS and ISO standards.
• Monitoring projects actively using the monitoring system and highlighting poor practices or risks.
• Investigating incidents, producing reports on root causes, and recommending improvements.
• Liaising with enforcing authorities as needed.
• Supporting the SHE Manager in updating policies and procedures.
• Working with senior management on divisional strategies for SHE improvement.
• Staying updated on legislation and industry best practices.
• Raising awareness on SHE and sustainability through toolbox talks, briefings, and training sessions.

Qualifications and experience required:

• NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (minimum)
• NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 5 in OHS (desired)
• Relevant experience in a SHE team
• Proactive support to operational units
• Up-to-date knowledge of UK legislation related to construction, civil engineering, and highways sector experience
