PRIMARY PURPOSE AND OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB:

Support ASN GH IO on all health, safety and environmental matters.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Regular Inspections:
    Conduct regular safety and environmental inspections across all business units. Identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  2. Internal and External Audits:
    Support internal HSE audits to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements and customer expectations. Facilitate external audits, perform root cause analyses, and develop corrective action plans.
  3. Incident Management:
    Manage investigations into incidents and accidents, ensuring thorough analysis and reporting. Implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks.
  4. HSE Initiatives:
    Develop and implement HSE initiatives to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. Engage employees at all levels in HSE programs and initiatives.
  5. Risk Assessments:
    Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for various processes and activities within the plant. Develop and implement control measures to mitigate identified risks.
  6. Environmental Management:
    Monitor and manage environmental aspects and impacts, including waste management and energy consumption. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
  7. Legal Compliance:
    Maintain an up-to-date legal register and ensure compliance with all relevant HSE legislation. Liaise with regulatory bodies as required.
  8. Health Hazards Monitoring:
    Monitor and manage health hazards such as noise and air quality. Implement control measures and conduct health surveillance programs.
  9. Emergency Response:
    Develop, implement, and maintain emergency response plans and procedures. Conduct regular drills and training sessions to ensure readiness for emergencies.
  10. Team Leadership and Collaboration:
    Lead and support safety specialists, HSE representatives, and the HSE committee. Foster a collaborative approach to HSE management across all business units.
  11. KPI Management:
    Develop and monitor HSE KPIs to measure performance and drive continuous improvement.
  12. Training Needs Analysis:
    Identify HSE training needs and develop training programs for employees. Ensure all employees receive appropriate HSE training and refresher courses.

Wanted profile

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE JOB

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field is desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a HSE role in the UK, minimum 3 years in the senior position and preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Certifications: NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH, or equivalent professional certification.
  • Skills:
    Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and standards. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to lead and influence others. Proficient in using HSE management systems and other IT software (Microsoft Office package etc.).
