Principal People Recruitment is assisting a well-established organisation to recruit a Senior Health & Safety Advisor. The role covers Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, North and North-West London, with around four days on site and one day working from home, supporting repairs and maintenance in social housing and residential sectors.

You will conduct site inspections, coach managers and subcontractors, oversee risk assessments and incidents, and drive a positive safety culture across multiple

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate is the minimum requirement.
• NEBOSH Diploma, Level 6 or CMIOSH status would be advantageous.
• Experience at Senior Health & Safety Advisor level.
• Background in social housing, repairs and maintenance, or related sectors.
• Experience supporting mobile workforces and subcontractors.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Practical, proactive approach with autonomy.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance checks across multiple contracts.
• Support managers, direct labour operatives and subcontractors on Health & Safety matters.
• Investigate accidents and incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Review risk assessments, safe systems of work and procedures.
• Deliver toolbox talks, training and safety workshops.
• Attend client and contractor meetings.
• Monitor SHEQ performance and KPI reporting.
• Promote a positive safety culture through coaching and engagement.

Senior Health & Safety Advisor - £55,000-£65,000 + Car Allowance + Mileage + Benefits

Repairs & Maintenance / Social Housing - Oxfordshire, Home Counties & North-West London - ID: 11976

We are working with a well-established organisation seeking a Senior Health & Safety Advisor to support repairs and maintenance contracts across the social housing and residential sectors. This is hands-on, multi-site role covering responsive repairs, planned works and property refurbishments.

You’ll work closely with operational managers, tradespeople and subcontractors to ensure compliance, improve safety standards and promote a positive safety culture.

The role covers Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, North and North-West London, with occasional regional travel. Expect around four days per week on site and one day working from home. Ideally, you’ll be based within a reasonable commuting distance of Oxfordshire.

Your role will include:

• Background in social housing, repairs and maintenance, transient environments,residential, refurbishment or hard services


• Experience supporting mobile workforces and subcontractors


• Strong communication skills and confidence influencing operational teams


• A practical, proactive approach and the ability to work autonomously


• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
