Job summary

The Hand Therapy team at Epsom General Hospital is inviting applications from an experienced Hand Therapist to join the MSK Hand Therapy Service. NHS experience in acute trauma, elective surgery, plastics or rheumatology is highly desirable.

The role requires autonomous caseload management, bespoke splinting, and active MDT participation, with travel to St Helier as needed. HCPC registration is essential and BAHT involvement is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
• HCPC registration as a practicing therapist.
• Significant Hand Therapy experience within NHS settings.
• BAHT membership and BAHT Level 1 training where possible.

Responsibilities

• Carry and prioritise own patient caseload and allocate tasks to juniors.
• Perform specialist hand therapy assessments and splinting for upper limb conditions.
• Attend consultant outpatients clinics and MDT meetings as hand therapist representative.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to service development.
• Teach student therapists and participate in in-service training.
