Job summary

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Hand Therapist to lead our MSK Hand Therapy Team at Epsom General Hospital. The role requires NHS experience in acute trauma, elective hand surgery, and rheumatology, with opportunities to train and mentor staff.

The post is Band 7, part-time (30 hours per week), with a strong focus on service development and education within a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy.
• Registered with HCPC and eligible to practice in the UK.
• CPD including reflective practice and clinical experience.
• Accredited Hand Therapist BAHT or equivalent.
• Master’s level training in a related subject preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver specialist hand therapy services within an autonomous setting.
• Organise, manage, evaluate and develop the hand therapy service; deputise for the Operational Lead.
• Educate/train undergraduate and postgraduate professionals; provide expert clinical advice.
• Identify research and audit priorities to drive service development with the MDT.
• Maintain high standards of documentation and ongoing professional development.
