SHD in London is seeking a Senior Hadoop Developer to manage the Hadoop cluster and craft high quality big data solutions within agile teams. The role focuses on development, analysis, design and building of data platforms in the financial services sector.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years' experience with large data systems, strong Hive expertise, and knowledge of Python, Spark and Java; flexible working, bonus and relocation could be on offer.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in a project/corporate environment with large data processing systems.
• Hadoop Hive is essential; Spark and Hortonworks are desirable.
• Knowledge of Python, Spark R and Java; testing and Agile environment appreciated.

A new role for an experienced Hadoop Developer / Big Data Engineer to join our market leading client in the Financial services industry. You will manage the Hadoop cluster: developing, analysing, designing and building, and supporting the delivery of high quality big Data solutions. Your responsibilities will cover all aspects of the Data lifecycle and you will work within agile teams and help drive change when needed.

We would like to see 5+ years practical experience working within a project or corporate environment with large data processing systems. Skills and tools should include:

• Database / Big Data Modelling;
• ETL processes;
• Hadoop: Hive (essential), Spark (desirable), Hortonworks (desirable).
• Also advantageous will be some experience / knowledge of: Python, Spark R, Java; software testing and working in an Agile environment.
