Job summary

Osterna, part of RMG and the Places for People Group, is seeking an experienced Senior Health & Safety Risk Assessor to join our proactive Health & Safety team. You will lead and support a remote team of assessors while delivering your own programme of risk assessments and report validation.

Based across Northern England with a flexible, home-based setup and site visits, the role balances leadership with hands-on field work and ensures high-quality risk assessments, KPI achievement, and

Qualifications

• Proven experience completing Fire Risk Assessments on residential blocks.
• Strong knowledge of Fire Safety Orders and Building Regulations.
• NEBOSH General Certificate and Fire Certificate (or equivalent).
• Membership of a recognised professional body (IFE or IFSM).
• Commitment to maintaining professional memberships and CPD.

Responsibilities

• Manage, support and develop a team of Osterna Risk Assessors, ensuring they are adequately trained, resourced and motivated
• Complete your own schedule of site visits and produce high-quality, accurate risk assessment reports
• Ensure KPIs, SLAs and quality standards are consistently met
• Carry out regular 1:1s and appraisals within agreed timescales
• Provide competent Health & Safety and Fire Safety advice to clients when required
• Support recruitment, onboarding and induction of new assessors
• Contribute positively to senior team meetings, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
