Job summary

Linear Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager for a major UK highways infrastructure programme. You will provide senior safety leadership, embed H&S culture and drive performance across planning, mobilisation and delivery.

Standalone responsibility includes line management of two H&S Advisors and working with project leadership to ensure compliance with ISO standards and statutory requirements on site 2–3 days per week.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma/NVQ6 in Occupational Health & Safety required.
• Chartered or graduate IOSH membership or actively working towards professional level.
• Proven experience as H&S Manager or senior H&S professional in highways/civil projects.
• Strong understanding of ISO 45001, 9001 and 14001 standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead as Health & Safety Manager for a major highways infrastructure project.
• Provide expert H&S advice, leadership and challenge to project and operations teams.
• Line manage two H&S professionals and develop consistent safety support.
• Embed H&S across planning, mobilisation and highways delivery.
• Ensure compliance with H&S legislation and industry best practice.
• Lead investigations into accidents, incidents and near-misses with root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate site inspections, audits and H&S assurance reviews.
• Monitor safety performance and drive continuous improvement.
