Job summary

Potters Resorts, based at Five Lakes, Maldon, Essex, seeks an experienced Group HR Manager to lead HR across Five Lakes and provide group support. You will manage employee relations, recruitment, performance, engagement and wellbeing while deputising for the Group HR Director when needed.

This role requires CIPD Level 7, strong UK employment law knowledge and proficiency with HR systems, including RotaReady and SmartRecruiters.

Qualifications

• CIPD qualification to Level 7 or higher and membership where applicable.
• Significant experience as an HR Manager, HR Business Partner or equivalent senior generalist HR role.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience managing complex employee relations matters, including investigations and formal processes.
• Excellent coaching, influencing and relationship-building skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise in a busy operational environment.
• Proficient in HR software platforms; day‑to‑day use of RotaReady (workforce management) and SmartRecruiters (recruitment).
• Experience supporting learning and development initiatives and engagement projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on HR leadership at Five Lakes and support Group HR Director across Resorts.
• Advise on employee relations, recruitment, performance management, wellbeing, engagement and rewards.
• Lead and support complex employee relations matters with legally compliant outcomes.
• Develop managers through coaching and leadership development.
• Oversee recruitment and onboarding to attract and retain talent.
• Champion employee engagement initiatives and wellbeing activities.
• Support Group HR initiatives across policies and procedures.
• Drive diversity, equity and inclusion aligned to business needs.
• Develop the HR Administrator and Recruitment Coordinator.
