Job summary

Surelock McGill Group is seeking a senior Health & Safety Manager to lead the QHSE team across multiple sites, including Royton, Hartlebury, Pavenham and Wokingham.

The role requires a NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent), and Chartered IOSH membership is preferred, with a strong grasp of UK legislation and ISO standards. You will drive a positive safety culture and maintain accreditations.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Diploma required.
• Strong knowledge of UK safety legislation and ISO 45001/14001.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence at all levels.
• Hands-on and proactive, thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Group Health & Safety strategy and culture across all sites.
• Maintain H&S systems and ensure compliance with UK HSE laws and ISO standards.
• Act as the Group’s competent person for Health & Safety under HSWA 1974.
• Manage the digitised H&S platform, RAMS, policies, and site procedures.
• Develop contractor control processes and permit-to-work for high-risk activities.
• Conduct audits and multi-site inspections to ensure compliance and safety.
• Perform risk assessments and implement effective controls to prevent incidents.
• Lead investigations into incidents and near-misses, driving corrective actions.
• Drive a consistent safety culture and maintain accreditations; act as point of contact for regulators.
