Job summary

Hitachi Energy UK Limited in Stone, Staffordshire, is seeking a Senior Protection Engineer to design and deliver high-quality protection solutions for renewable energy projects. You will translate customer specs into function designs and manage project risk within budget and timescales.

The role requires 5+ years in electrical engineering, a degree in EE, and strong communication. You will work with customers, project managers and Hitachi teams to implement IED configurations and IEC61850

Qualifications

5+ years within the electrical engineering sector, particularly grid automation
Strong foundation in transmission within the energy sector
HND or a Degree in Electrical Engineering
Membership (or working towards) CEng
Fluent in English with good communication skills

Responsibilities

Prepare functional design specifications and project scope documents
Prepare protection designs for production and manufacturing
Protection product selection, IED configurations, and IEC61850 engineering
Develop protection solutions spanning the full development cycle from concept to delivery
Provide technical support during pre-FAT and FAT, assisting with installation and commissioning
