Job summary

Statkraft, Europe's largest generator of renewable energy, invites a Senior Grid Engineer – Power Systems & Compliance to drive grid integration and compliance for BESS, wind and solar projects in the UK.

Reporting to the Technical Manager – Grid Services UK, you will lead Grid Code and G99 activities, manage studies, coordinate with NESO, TOs and DNOs, and mentor engineers across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with Grid Code, G99 and network compliance.
• Knowledge of GB Grid Code and power system studies.
• Ability to challenge methodologies and assumptions.
• HV substations, protection, metering knowledge.
• Experience with BESS, wind, solar or converter-based generation.
• NESO and DNO compliance knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead Grid Code and G99 compliance activities and deliverables.
• Manage power system studies, modelling, submissions and compliance testing.
• Coordinate study programmes: load flow, fault level, harmonic analysis, stability.
• Review consultant and OEM study methods and results for project impact.
• Engage with NESO, Transmission Owners and DNOs; coordinate submissions and close-out.
• Define plant control and integration requirements (BESS, EMS, PPC/MPPC).
• Support integration of BESS and grid-forming projects across wind/solar.
• Provide technical leadership through design, construction and commissioning.
• Mentor engineers and provide practical engineering recommendations.
