UNCOVER, a leading UK law firm, seeks a Senior Governance & Risk Analyst in Birmingham to join the Risk & Compliance function. The role suits an experienced compliance professional who enjoys a broad range of risk and regulatory matters.

You will oversee firm-wide risk processes, provide PRACTICAL guidance on AML/CDD, conflicts, SRA compliance and information security, and support policy development, training and audits.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Compliance function, preferably in a law firm.
• Strong knowledge of AML/CDD, conflicts, SRA compliance, data protection and information security.
• Ability to provide practical, commercially aware guidance to stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee a range of firm-wide risk and compliance processes.
• Provide advice across AML/CDD, conflicts of interest, SRA requirements, data protection and internal risk policies.
• Monitor regulatory developments and support policy development and review.
• Provide day-to-day guidance to junior members of Governance & Risk and compliance teams.
• Coordinate and deliver compliance training for new joiners and staff; support onboarding and development.
• Maintain and develop information security and quality frameworks, including audits and external assessments.
• Contribute to firm-wide risk, compliance and project initiatives.

A leading UK law firm is looking to appoint a Senior Governance & Risk Analyst to join their established Risk & Compliance function in Birmingham.

The role would suit an experienced compliance professional who is looking to take the next step in their career and who enjoys working on a broad range of risk & compliance matters.

Key Responsibilities for the Senior Governance & Risk Analyst role:

• Manage and oversee a range of firm-wide risk and compliance processes, ensuring matters are handled consistently, efficiently and in line with internal requirements.
• Provide clear and proportionate advice across a broad range of areas, including conflicts of interest, AML/CDD, SRA requirements, data protection and internal risk policies and procedures.
• Monitor developments across the regulatory and compliance landscape, assessing their impact on the firm and supporting the implementation of relevant changes, including contributing to policy development and review.
• Provide day-to-day guidance, support and oversight to junior members of the Governance & Risk team, compliance.
• Coordinate and deliver compliance training for new joiners and existing employees, as well as supporting the onboarding and development of new members of the Governance & Risk function.
• Support the ongoing maintenance and development of the firm's quality and information security frameworks, including policy reviews, audits, control testing and preparation for external assessments.
• Contribute to wider risk, compliance and firm-wide projects, supporting the implementation of new initiatives and improvements across the business.

About You

• Strong experience within a Compliance function, ideally within a law firm environment.
• Good knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance, with experience across areas such as AML/CDD, conflicts, SRA compliance, data protection and information security.
• Confident providing practical, commercially aware advice and guidance to stakeholders at all levels.
