Job summary

SGI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Go) to join a London-based, hybrid engineering team building cloud-native platforms and AI-enabled solutions for enterprise scale. The role focuses on scalable Go services, microservices, and platform tooling within a regulated, global environment.

You will influence architectural direction, work with Kubernetes at scale, and collaborate with senior engineers and stakeholders across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Strong commercial experience with Go (Golang)
• Experience building distributed systems and microservices architectures
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes and containerisation
• Cloud experience across AWS, Azure or GCP
• Exposure to platform engineering, developer tooling or internal platforms
• Experience working within complex enterprise environments
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical decisions

Responsibilities

• Building scalable backend services and platform components using Go and other modern technologies
• Designing and developing cloud-native applications and distributed systems
• Creating reusable engineering blueprints and developer platforms
• Driving best practices around software architecture, security and platform engineering
• Working with Kubernetes and containerised environments at scale
• Helping shape the adoption of Generative AI and LLM technologies within a highly regulated environment
• Collaborating with senior stakeholders, architects and engineering teams across a global organisation
• Influencing technical strategy and engineering standards
