Job summary

Applied Intuition Defence in London seeks a Guidance, Navigation & Control Engineer to design, integrate, and rigorously test core flight autonomy capabilities for a range of aerial platforms. You will contribute to a reusable software stack powering multiple defence programs, collaborating with teams across the company.

The role requires a strong background in GNC, C++, and autonomy algorithms, with a track record in flight testing and data analysis in a defense setting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• 6+ years hands-on experience developing GNC software for autonomous systems.
• Experience developing autonomy algorithms in C++.
• Experience with outer-loop control or path planning.
• Strong foundation in control theory, dynamics, and optimization.
• Experience modeling 3DoF/6DoF air vehicles for GNC.
• Flight testing and data analysis experience.
• Experience with UAS GNC/navigation systems such as PX4 and ArduPilot.
• Strong programming across procedural, functional, data-oriented and OO.

Responsibilities

• Write and integrate GNC software for autonomous aerial systems across multiple UAV platforms.
• Develop and validate autonomy software architectures; ensure deployment on real hardware.
• Collaborate with vehicle vendors to integrate autonomy software onto OEM hardware.

Education

Master's degree in Aerospace, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or similar field
