Senior Global Network Engineer – Trading Infrastructure

Job summary

Referment, in partnership with a leading tech-driven investment firm, seeks a Network Engineer to join its global Infrastructure team in London. You will design, build and support a critical network that underpins trading platforms and a fast-moving technology estate.

You'll work across project and operational engineering, taking ownership of complex infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and driving performance improvements. A hands-on, proactive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Network/Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching).
• Hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies in complex environments.
• Scripting or automation experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash or similar.
• Experience supporting Windows and Linux servers in a broader infra team.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with interest in building and improving infra.
• Financial services or trading environment experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support the enterprise network infrastructure.
• Manage and optimize switching, routing, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networking, and core connectivity.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network and infrastructure issues.
• Support and improve network performance, resilience, and availability across global environments.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams on deployments, upgrades, and initiatives.
• Automate operational tasks using scripting and tooling where appropriate.
• Support Windows and Linux server environments as part of the broader infra team.
• Contribute to evolution of infrastructure architecture and best practices.
