Job summary

GKN Aerospace is seeking a Commodity Buyer to manage over £100m of expenditure across Machining, Fabrications and Special Processes. You will develop and execute category strategies, negotiate with suppliers, and monitor contract performance to maximise value.

The role requires deep procurement expertise and strong commercial acumen. Experience in strategic sourcing, multi-million pound savings, and aerospace familiarity are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience with strategic procurement techniques.
• Track record of delivering procurement savings against multi-million pound expenditures.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Highly commercial with ability to unlock value for the business.
• Desirable: aerospace sector experience and customer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee >£100m expenditure in Machining, Fabrications and Special Processes.
• Develop category strategies to maximise value for the business.
• Negotiate and contract with suppliers; evaluate performance and compliance.
• Analyze expenditure and market to inform RFx documents.
• Execute pan-site sourcing and implement pan-Business Line contracts.
• Support bid activity where significant category requirements exist.
• Establish supplier governance and measure performance.
