Senior GIS Technician - Birmingham

Job Overview

Build the world you want to live in with a career in the infrastructure property sector. As a Senior GIS Technician, you will support a fast-paced property consultancy within our client’s growing Geospatial team. Your responsibilities include producing high-quality maps and plans, supporting legal conveyancing, land registration, planning constraints mapping for renewable energy projects, and developing complex site finding analysis using the latest spatial techniques. You will have access to the full Esri Enterprise GIS platform, Safe FME, and current 2D and 3D data sets, encouraging innovation and skill growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare accurate maps supporting legal and property processes.
2. Manipulate, edit, attribute, and analyze spatial data.
3. Digitize, geocode, and reference data for cartographic production.
4. Create land parcel boundaries and perform area calculations.
5. Develop site analysis models and present results via mapping, web applications, and dashboards using Esri tools.
6. Provide geospatial consultancy and identify opportunities to embed GIS services in workflows.
7. Manage workflows and supervise tasks.
8. Handle general admin tasks like job management and SOPs.

Qualifications & Skills

Extensive experience in GIS, especially with ESRI ArcGIS applications, APIs, ArcGIS Online/Enterprise, and related tools. Experience with Ordnance Survey data, mobile applications like Survey 123, Field Maps, Quick Capture, and data management with ArcGIS Pro is preferred. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential. Knowledge of processing 3D survey data is advantageous but not required.

Additional Details

This is a hybrid role, ideally requiring 2 days in the office per week.
