Job summary

South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Consultant Geriatrician to lead acute frailty care at Warwick hospital. The post is full-time (10PA) with on-call commitments and close ties to emergency, acute medicine, and community services.

The post is suitable for those with CCT in Geriatrics or within 6 months of completion, and a strong interest in teaching and research is expected. DBS and professional registration are required where applicable.

Qualifications

• Eligible for the specialist register in Care of the Elderly (with general medicine) or within 6 months of CCT Date.
• Expressed interest in undergraduate and postgraduate education.
• Demonstrable commitment to teaching and mentoring of medics in training and other MDT members.

Responsibilities

• Lead geriatric assessment and care for frail older adults in urgent care settings.
• Collaborate with emergency, acute medicine, and community teams to deliver high-quality services.
• Contribute to evolution of the Acute Frailty service, including data collection and workforce development.
