Job summary

CPR in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to provide technical leadership across the programme and supply chain, with hybrid working options in Birmingham. The role requires acting as Geotechnical SME, delivering technical advice and assurance across the project, and supporting ground investigation, foundations and earthworks to maintain a consistent, safe and compliant approach.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology or a related field with Chartered status/professional membership or equivalent experience.
• Extensive geotechnical engineering experience, ideally on major infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of ground investigation, foundations, earthworks and geotechnical design and construction.
• Experience applying technical standards and undertaking technical assurance.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Experience analysing data and reporting findings to support decision-making.
• Understanding NEC3 contracts, commercial, risk and interface management.

Responsibilities

• Providing geotechnical leadership and technical support across the programme.
• Undertaking technical assurance of design and construction activities.
• Responding to RFIs, Technical Queries and Departures.
• Contributing to the development and review of technical standards and specifications.
• Supporting ground investigation, foundations, earthworks and geotechnical engineering activities.
• Identifying technical issues and root causes and providing effective solutions.
• Working closely with delivery teams, designers, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure a consistent approach.
