Job summary

Kent is seeking a geotechnical engineering professional to support onshore energy projects. The role covers feasibility through to detailed design, delivering geotechnical analyses and collaborating with project teams and clients.

The successful contractor will review geotechnical data, propose ground investigations, and contribute to design of foundations, slopes, and retaining structures, ensuring compliance with specifications and providing construction support as needed.

Qualifications

• Geotechnical engineering experience on onshore energy projects.

Responsibilities

• Acting as a specialist geotechnical engineer on onshore Energy projects, from feasibility stage to detailed design.
• Formulating resolutions to technically challenging issues and communicating effectively with project engineers, project management and clients.
• Providing construction support, as required.
• Ensuring compatibility and compliance with client specifications and recommending cost-effective/value-added improvements within the scope of client specifications and requirements.
• Taking responsibility for all geotechnical engineering aspects of the scope of work including execution of project deliverables and all relevant calculations.
• Undertaking specialist activities and/or reviews of geotechnical engineering aspects.
• Reviewing and analysing geotechnical data to develop geotechnical design parameters, advise on further ground investigations, identify hazards and manage risks.
• Providing support to procurement/proposals for ground investigations and other relevant technical services, as required.
• Undertaking design activities such as slope stability analyses, slope stabilisation methods, retaining structures, design of shallow and deep foundations, etc.
