Job summary

Senior Geotechnical Engineer role based in Sheffield within a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy. You will lead geotechnical investigations from feasibility to construction, overseeing budgets and delivering reports.

The ideal candidate holds a relevant degree, extensive UK experience, Chartered status is advantageous, and you will mentor junior engineers while coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology.
• Significant UK geotechnical consultancy/engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of geotechnical principles and ground investigation.
• Experience with geotechnical design and assessment.
• Good report writing and technical communication skills.
• Ability to manage projects and work independently.
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Leading geotechnical investigations and producing factual and interpretative reports.
• Geotechnical design and assessment for foundations, retaining structures, slopes and earthworks.
• Reviewing ground investigation data and developing ground models.
• Specification and management of site investigations.
• Geotechnical calculations and analysis. Providing technical input into multidisciplinary projects.
• Liaising with clients, contractors and other consultants.
• Supporting and mentoring junior engineers.
• Managing projects, budgets and technical deliverables.
